Clingendael signs contract for three Defence Seminars

The Netherlands Institute for International Relations 'Clingendael' will organise three seminars for the Dutch Presidency of the European Union during the first half of 2016. The new EU global strategy on foreign and security policy will be presented during the Netherlands Presidency. Anticipating the strategy and the need to follow-up, the Dutch Presidency aims to start a discussion about the strategy's implications for the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) with the focus on deepening the defence cooperation.

Clingendael has been given the honourable assignment to organise three seminars for the Ministry of Defence, which will contribute to launching concrete ideas and proposals on how to strengthen CSCP in the context of the changing security environment. The seminars will be organised for high-level officials, parlamentarians and experts from the EU institutions, its member states and selected think tanks. Particiation will only be possible by invitation.
