The Role of Civil Society in Implementing the Global UN Counter Terrorism Strategy

During the review of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which took place in the General Assembly on 7, 8 and 9 September 2010 in New York, the Office of the Counter Terrorism Implemention Task Force together with the International Peace Institute organised a side-event on the different aspects of the Global Strategy. Bibi van Ginkel, senior research fellow of the Clingendael Security and Conflict Programme, participated in the panel on the role of civil society in the implementation of the Global Stragegy. The panel was moderated by Francesco Cappé of the United Nations Interregional Crime Research Institute (UNICRI). Other members of the panel were Alistair Millar of the Centre on Global Counterterrorism Cooperation and David Cortright of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies.
