Conference 15 Jahre "Krieg gegen den Terror"- Lehren + Perspektiven'

The conference will take place on Friday 9 September 2016 in the Deutscher Bundestag in Berlin. This is a public event; more information on the conference programme and registration can be found here. 

It is almost fifteen years ago that the George Bush administration declared the War on Terror after the attacks on 9/11. In between, anti-terror politics have changed a lot. This will be the main topic during a conference held by the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen Bundestagsfraktion. Keynote speaker is Omid Nouripour MdB, spokesperson on foreign politics of Bündnis 90/die Grünen Bundestagsfraktion.

Dr. Bibi van Ginkel, senior research fellow at the Clingendael Institute and the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism-The Hague (ICCT) will join a panel discussion during this event. She will discuss alternative approachtes to the focus on military and security politics witnessed today. Moderator of this panel is Agnieszka Brugger, member of the Defence Committee of the Deutscher Bundestag. Other panelists are Prof. Dr. Dr. Hans-Joachim Giessmann (Berghof Foundation, Berlin) and Matthias Gebauer (journalist Spiegel Online, Berlin).
