Transatlantic Dialogue on Middle East Policy
The objective of this conference was to bring together a group of influential American and European foreign policy analysts, not merely to compare their different approaches to Middle East policy issues, but also to offer suggestions on how to foster cooperative policies in the region. Some experts from the Middle East participated as well. In addition to an introductory session, three major themes were addressed: Gulf policy, the Middle East Peace Process, and the problems related to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and the rise of international terrorism.
