Managing Crises, Making Peace- EU style

09 Jun 2015 - 15:16

Senior Research Fellow Margriet Drent has contributed a Chapter to a recently published Palgrave Macmillan book, titled Managing Crises, Making Peace. Towards a Strategic EU Vision for Security and Defense. The book is edited by Maria Grazia Galantino and Maria Raquel Freire. The volume brings an innovative perspective to European Union engagement in peace operations, combining theoretical reflection with the analysis of empirical case studies that illustrate not only the EU's action in the framework of its Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), but also how it engages with other actors in the field including international organisations, non-governmental organisations and local citizens. Drent's chapter addresses EU-NATO Relations on Crisis Management Operations from the perspective of practice-theory.
