The Polish Institute of Diplomacy

Since 2010 Clingendael has been closely involved in the start-up of the Polish Diplomatic Institute (PDI). The Institute was founded as a response to the current challenges facing Polish diplomats. Its main goal is to educate and develop the professional skills of Polish Foreign Service officers, by providing a range of courses aimed at MFA employees.

One of the Institute’s important roles is to promote knowledge of the Polish Foreign Service and its history through seminars, conferences and publications. Another important aim of the Institute is to establish broad cooperation with Polish and foreign partners.

Crisis Management

Clingendael Academy accepted the Institute’s invitation to design and deliver a training on Crisis Management. During this two-day course participants have intensively discussed several case studies – like for example flight MH 370, went over a real-life crisis exercise, practiced future planning- both short and long term, and discussed the role of communication and importance of sound sense-making.

Both Institutes are looking forward to deepen the relationship and continue cooperation.
