Clingendael in European think tank top 25 ranking

Once again the Clingendael Institute can be found among the top  25 think tanks in Europe, according to the recently published Global Go To Think Tank Index 2015, which is acknowledged worldwide. On a European level, The Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ takes 17th position. In the overall worldwide ranking Clingendael is 46th.

In the research areas Top Defence and National Security and Top Foreign Policy and International Affairs Clingendael respectively holds 39th and 41st place worldwide.
On a national level the Clingendael Institute is by far the highest ranking Dutch think tank, as it was in previous years.

Ko Colijn, general director of the Clingendael Institute: “The ranking shows we are in a continuous process of innovating and thinking ahead. We are clarifying and interpreting more and more complicated global issues, and serve a broader range of clients.”

The Index is published yearly by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania and is based on peer review and expert opinions. It collects its data through the reviews of nearly 7000  think tanks and 4750 experts  think tanks, involved in politics, journalism, country and regional expertise as well as donors/commissioning parties of think tanks. Europe has over 1770 think tanks, North America counts 1931.
