The case for restraint with Iran

European calls last week for new sanctions against Iran, including withdrawal of all 27 ambassadors of the EU memberstates, have died down. At the G-8 in Italy, where the Europeans were balanced by Presidents Obama and Medvedev and Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso, further condemnation of Iran was rejected in order to facilitate the resumption of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
