Conference on Afghanistan at Clingendael: The need for local initiatives [updated]
April 1, 2009. On 30 March, the day before the international conference on Afghanistan, the ‘Clingendael’ Institute organized a conference on 'Regional Context, Local Action, National Results in Afghanistan "How to generate national results in development, economic growth and security through local action". This was an initiative by the six organizations Clingendael, Cordaid, Health Net TPO, ICCO, Oxfam Novib, and the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) and included a debate between speakers from Afghanistan and international experts.
