Belarus conference

November 29, 2004. Alexander Lukashenko has ruled Belarus for more than a decade. His rule has brought his country stagnation and isolation. Yet, many in Belarus aspire to the normalisation of relations with 'institutional Europe' and the rest of the world. Economic reform is long overdue and in urgent need. On 29 November at Clingendael's Belarus Conference, experts will discuss the prospects for an upturn.
