  • Afghanistan Online: Directory for news and broad information on Afghanistan, based in the United States.
  • Al-Bab: Portal to the Arab world for country guides and a wide range of topics and news, including economics.
  • Al-Bawaba: Portal for economy, business, politics, tourism, culture, law, health, entertainment, sports, and more.
  • AME Info: Business information search engine, directory, and regional guide.
  • ArabNet: Aim is to provide the most comprehensive online resource on the Arab world, primarily dealing with countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Center for Lebanese Studies: An independent academic institution, founded in 1984 by a group of Lebanese concerned with the state of affairs in their country. Their objective was to set up an institution that would undertake impartial and balanced research and contribute towards Lebanon's recovery.
  • Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Harvard University: Its mandate includes a primary emphasis on the centuries since the rise of Islam and a concern with the wider Islamic world as well. CMES serves Harvard as the coordinating body and the primary source of additional support for the various academic programs that cover the vast region from Morocco and North Africa to Turkey and Iran.
  • Center for Middle Eastern Studies, University of Texas at Austin: Has three primary objectives: To train specialists capable of advancing knowledge of the Middle East through research and teaching, or applying their knowledge of the Middle East to careers in business, government and the professions; To provide a supportive environment for faculty research and teaching on the Middle East; To promote understanding between the people of the United States and the Middle East.
  • Center for Strategic Studies, University of Jordan: Concerned mainly with research in the fields of regional conflicts, international relations and security. As a result of the country's democratization process that started in 1989, however, the center has expanded its scope of activities to include planning and research in such new fields as democracy, political pluralism, development, the economy and the environment.

  • Lebanese Center for Policy Studies, Beirut: An independent, non-profit research institute. Its mission is to provide policy research on issues relevant to the political, social, and economic development in Lebanon and the Arab World.
  • Lebanese Foundation for Permanent Civil Peace, Beirut: Aims at promoting theoretical and practical works concerning the Lebanese experience.
  • Middle East Institute: Principal objective has been to increase Americans' knowledge and understanding of the region. In support of this mission, MEI offers program activities, language courses, scholars-in-residence and an academic journal.
  • Middle East Intelligence Bulletin: A free monthly publication, sponsored by the United States Committee for a Free Lebanon, dedicated to providing informed analysis of political and strategic developments in Lebanon, Syria & the Middle East.

  • Washington Report on Middle East Affairs: Focuses on news and analysis from and about the Middle East and U.S. policy in that region. The Washington Report is published by the American Educational Trust (AET), a non-profit foundation incorporated in Washington, DC by retired U.S. foreign service officers to provide the American public with balanced and accurate information concerning U.S. relations with Middle Eastern states.
