Library

Library and Documentation Centre

Aim

The main purpose of the Library and Documentation Centre is to support the training, research and consultancy activities of the Clingendael Institute. The content of the training and research programmes forms the main framework for expanding the collection and, reflecting the Institute's forward-looking outlook, contains little historical material. The library covers a broad range of international political relations and security topics with a predominant emphasis on the work of the European Union and of international organisations, diplomatic relations and international negotiations; peace and conflict studies and the foreign and security policy of the Netherlands.

Collection

The collection comprises approximately 26.000 books, 100 current subscriptions to journals and a reference collection. The books include a substantial collection of socalled grey literature such as conference reports, working papers and pamphlets.

Catalogue and reading lists

The on-line public access catalogue contains app. 75.000 references to books and articles and offers a range of retrieval facilities. Reading lists on forty-eight topics are updated each half year.
