Lunch Seminar Expectations of the upcoming European Council meeting, 24 January 2012
Europe is examining ways out of the financial and economic crisis. The next European Council meeting of January 30 will address the treaty change as well as the possibilities of economic growth. Will European leaders be able to create the necessary stability for the Eurozone and will the Council meeting show the unity that is needed?
The Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ organises a lunch seminar on the expectations of the upcoming European Council on Tuesday January 24.

- 12h30 - Opening and introduction Adriaan Schout of the Clingendael Institute
- 12h40 - Expectations on the upcoming European Council meeting Piotr Maciej Kaczynski, research fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels. He is an expert on political integration of the EU and the inter-institutional developments.
- 13h00 - Comments Jan Marinus Wiersma, senior visiting fellow of the Clingendael Institute. He served for fifteen years as member of the European Parliament.
