New Security Paper on Islamist Radicalisation

November 30, 2009. The Clingendael Security and Conflict Programme published a new Security Paper: Islamist Radicalisation: A Root Cause Model, by Tinka Veldhuis & Jørgen Staun. This paper introduces a theoretical model of the causes of islamist radicalisation that sheds some light on the sociological and (socio-)psychological circumstances under which ‘home-grown’ radicalisation of young Muslims in Europe is likely to occur.
