Democracy Assistance: Intentions and Outcomes
June 14, 2006. A new CRU Working Paper by Marc de Tollenaere provides an assessment of international support for elections, human rights and media development in Mozambique between 1994 and 2005. After identifying the strengths and weaknesses of various areas of democracy assistance, the paper highlights a number of lessons learned as well as concrete recommendations for improving future international support for democratisation in Mozambique.
