Our Talk and Walk: Discourse Analysis and Conflict Studies
October 27, 2005. CRU presents a new Working Paper by Jeannine Suurmond: "Our Talk and Walk: Discourse Analysis and Conflict Studies". Discourse analysis brings in a focus on human realities, an issue less examined in conflict research. This paper provides an overview of selected present day discourse schools, and suggests ways in which discourse analysis can contribute to our understanding of conflicts and peace. Finally, Jeannine Suurmond proposes to expand the discourse of contemporary conflict research with a stronger focus on peace structure and culture development. Download PDF
