About

More about CSCP

The Clingendael Security and Conflict Programme (CSCP) analyses and monitors contemporary conflicts and security threats to The Netherlands and the world at large. The programme's research agenda consists of five key-themes: defence-related issues, terrorism and radicalisation, proliferation of non-conventional weapons, international security & international security organisations, and changing strategic environments. Furthermore, CSCP's Conflict Research Unit analyses the conflict cycle from prevention to reconstruction.

Frequent publications are accompanied by seminars and conferences held at the Clingendael Institute. Honouring its role as a think-thank, these meetings are intended to exchange knowledge and to further stimulate debate on security and conflicts. In addition, the experts from CSCP are available as commentators for the media and have acted frequently as lecturers or panel members.

Furthermore, the CSCP offers courses on, for instance, Crisis Management and International Security for diplomats, civil servants, military staff, and university students.

Finally, both CSCP and the Conflict Research Unit conduct research for a wide variety of policy institutions, such as the Dutch Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
