Proposal for a smart external energy policy for Europe
April 23, 2008. The EU has put in place an ambitious energy agenda in its "20-20-20" programme. The challenge is to make an (economically viable) transition to a more sustainable energy-mix, while at the same time improve security of supply during the transition period. In a new publication Prof. Dr Coby van der Linde points out the gaps in the EU's external energy policy toolbox, and offers some alternative ways for Europe to deal with the current energy challenges.
