Clingendael Energy Lecture 'Rotterdam Climate Initiative' by Ruud Lubbers 18 December 2007
The 2007 Clingendael Energy Lecture will be delivered by Professor Dr Ruud Lubbers, former Prime Minister to the Netherlands. Mr Lubbers will speak about the ambitions of the Rotterdam Climate Initiative, which was established to make Rotterdam the world capital of CO2 free energy.
The Rotterdam Climate Initiative offers a platform for the business community, the authorities, citizens and other people involved to join forces and create a better environment. The concrete target is 50% reduction in CO2 emissions in 2025 as compared to 1990, with structural economic growth. The Rotterdam Climate Initiative makes efforts to increase energy saving, supports the use of sustainable energy and CO2 capture and distribution systems.
