CIEP Workshop EU standards for Energy Supply Security 29 November 2006
Building upon the CIEP/ECN study on EU Standards for Energy Supply Security, an expert workshop was held with Dutch, French and Irish government experts. Discussions focussed on the supply security standards model as developed by CIEP/ECN. Participants evaluated the two major components of the model, using also written comments from the UK's Department of Trade and Industry. The two main components of the model are the S/D Index, covering the supply/demand balance in the medium and longer term, and the CC-Index, covering the risks and mitigation of sudden unforeseen and short term supply interruptions.
CIEP and ECN intend to update and further develop their June 2006 report in early January and will further present their views in appropriate settings and discussions.
