CIEP Gas Day 2010
July 23, 2010. On 2 September CIEP will organise its annual Gas Day. During the Gas Day 2010 we will discuss the major geopolitical, economic and policy trends that affect the future of the European gas industry together with a large number of stakeholders from private, public and academic circles. During the seminar senior representatives from Royal Dutch Shell, McKinsey & Company, E.ON Ruhrgas, RWE, Gas Transport Services, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, ExxonMobil, and CIEP will present their vision on the major developments in the gas market. Challenges of the Netherlands’ energy policy: Developing strengths
July 23, 2010. On August 25th, 2010, CIEP and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs will organise a seminar which will address key issues in Dutch and international energy policy. The speakers will elaborate on present and future trends and challenges in an international perspective. The seminar will be concluded by Maria van der Hoeven, Minister of Economic Affairs, with a reflection of what has been achieved in the past few years. The seminar will address the key energy challenges and opportunities for the Netherlands as a major gas exporter with an excellent geographical position and with the ambition to extend its hub function on oil and gas to other energy sources. The seminar will also offer analyses and visions on future developments in renewable energy, gas, infrastructure and energy geopolitics. CIEP Briefing Paper: “Three Observations on Global Energy and Climate”
July 16, 2010. "The Copenhagen COP-15 summit in December 2009 did not yield the significant outcome that it was intended to deliver. Although the Copenhagen Accord provided some tangible results, the question of whether an effective international regime on climate change can be established is becoming ever more urgent. This paper will analyze on several different levels the outcome of the Copenhagen negotiations and the prospects of international action on climate change. Read more »
