Training
The Clingendael European Studies Programme has a longstanding tradition of developing and running customised training programmes focusing on current European developments and its policy consequences for professionals working in European affairs. The content of these programmes are specifically geared to the special wishes of each client. However, the programmes all share a focus on practical exercises, interactive teaching methods and self-activation. Clingendael staff uses tried and tested simulation games, case studies and exercises that are all developed in-house, often with the help of the clients' expertise.
Our programmes vary in content from general EU knowledge oriented introductory courses to a seminar on a specialised topic (e.g. European Water policy, competition rules etc.). Furthermore some of our programmes only focus on the training of skills, necessary to effectively promote interests in the EU, such as lobby and negotiation skills. Current clients are Dutch government departments and other governmental and non-governmental organisations. CESP also specialises in the training of government officials from the new member states and the accession countries on how to be effective in the European Union.
