'The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union' Wednesday February 3, 2010
Conference
On Wednesday 3 February 2010 the Clingendael Institute, in cooperation with the Spanish Embassy in The Hague, will hold a conference to mark the start of The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, during the first half of 2010.
The conference will be opened by the Spanish Secretary of State for European Affairs, H.E. Mr Diego López Garrido who will present and discuss the Spanish EU Presidency priorities.
H.E. Mr Frans Timmermans, the Dutch Minister for European Affairs, will give a reaction to the Spanish EU-agenda, also with a view to current issues featuring prominently in the European debate. The speeches will be followed by discussion and questions.
The meeting will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Jaap de Zwaan, Director of the Clingendael Institute.
