December 20, 2011. On behalf of the Clingendael Institute, the Erasmus School of Law and T.M.C. Asser Press, it is a pleasure to announce the presentation of the book Freedom, Security and Justice after Lisbon and Stockholm. This book introduces the main changes induced by the Lisbon Treaty and the Stockholm programme in the field of Justice and Home Affairs. The contributions to this book assess briefly the acquis so far and elaborate on the future challenges that remain, in order to turn the area of freedom, security and justice into a reality, both for citizens and practitioners. December 13, 2011. De Europese Unie probeert met moeite de financiële crisis te beheersen terwijl de Chinese economie blijft groeien. Zal China de EU helpen bij het oplossen van de financiële problemen of zullen Chinese investeringen juist leiden tot verdeeldheid binnen de EU en een zwakkere Euro op de lange termijn? Op dinsdag 20 december organiseert het Clingendael European Studies Programme een lunchlezing over de rol van China in de Eurocrisis. Twee China-kenners, Henk Schulte Nordholt en Garrie van Pinxteren, zullen beiden een lezing geven en met elkaar in debat gaan over de politieke en economische rol van China in de Eurocrisis.
