Jan Melissen appointed at at Antwerp University
October 15, 2004. Jan Melissen, Head of Clingendael's Department of Training and Education, has been appointed as Professor (part-time) in the Department of Politics at Antwerp University. He will teach diplomacy in theory and practice at the University's MA in International Relations and Diplomacy, and his research will also be in the field of diplomatic studies.
Melissen, who is associate editor of Diplomacy & Statecraft and managing editor of Clingendael's Discussion Papers in Diplomacy, is currently working on public diplomacy, trends in contemporary diplomatic practice, and the future of diplomatic representation. His next book, an edited volume on public diplomacy, will be published by Palgrave in 2005.
